PHOTOS: Occupy Wall Street hits Sarasota

Occupy Wall Street, the movement to challenge corporate power and influence over politics in New York, inspired around 100 Sarasotans to gather on Main Street outside of the city’s large Bank of America office this morning.

The protest, organized by a group named Occupy Sarasota, featured a bevy of colorful signs with slogans like “Corporate greed just took your job!” and chants of “We are the 99 percent!” The police presence was minimal, and there were no clashes like those seen in Manhattan.
